Notice of Race
J/22 Southwest Circuit , December 31-30, 1969
 

, and J/22 Fleet cordially invite you to attend the , a J/22 2009 Southwest Circuit Regatta to be held Dec 31, 1969 through Dec 31, 1969. This is a five race regatta with the option for a sixth race for J/22 Sailboats. This is the regatta in the J/22 Southwest Circuit.

Rules:  The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined by the 2013-2016 Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) and is designated Category C as restricted by IJ22CA rule 2.9.8 (a). The same crew and the same three class sails must be used during the entire regatta. Substitutions can only be made with the written approval of the Protest Committee or Chief Judge. Boats shall be launched prior to 12:00 pm (12 noon) on the first scheduled day of the event. Boats (including rudders) may not be removed from the water during the regatta without the approval of the Protest Committee or Chief Judge. Sailing instructions will be distributed at registration..

Eligibility:  J/22 Class yachts in compliance with class rules will be scored. In accordance with the J/22 Southwest District Notice of Circuit, owners and helmsmen who are not class members, boats without a valid measurement certificate or whose teams exceed the crew weight limit of 275kg in Class rule 8.9 may participate and be scored in this regatta, however, those without a valid measurement certificate or class membership shall not be kept for purposes of scoring in the Southwest District Circuit.

Location:  The regatta will be held .

Fees:  The entry fee is $20.00 pre-registered and $30 at registration. To be eligible for pre-registration, a completed registration form must be completed online before Dec 31 1969. Online registration is available on the SW District website at www.j22southwest.org. All registration fees are payable prior to 9:00 AM on Dec 31 1969.

Scoring:  Five races are scheduled of which two shall be completed to constitute a series. No races will be discarded this changes Appendix A2.

Inspection & Measurements:  All participants are subject to inspection and measurement at any time during the regatta. The Race Committee may, at its discretion, inspect any yacht in order to confirm compliance with the prescribed class rules concerning construction and measurements, safety rules when racing, crew prohibition and restrictions when racing. Class royalty tags must be present on all sails.

Bow Numbers: To facilitate scoring and the identification of boats for the purpose of RRS 29.1, 29.2 and 30.1 violation notification, unique bow numbers are required to be fixed to both external port and starboard sides of the forward bow area of each competing crew's boat hull. These numbers must be affixed to both port and starboard as follows:

a. The leading edge of the forward number shall be 250mm/10” aft of the stem.
b. The leading edge of the aft numbers shall be 100mm/4” aft of the aft edge of the forward number.
c. The top edge of both numbers shall be 100mm/4” from the rail.
d. All numbers must contrast with the color of the hull and be at least 305mm/12" in height.

Bow numbers will be assigned to each participating crew for the duration of the 2013 J/22 Southwest Circuit. Bow numbers 01 through 20 are pre-assigned respectively to the top twenty crews of the 2012 J/22 Southwest Circuit. Bow numbers 21 through 99 will be assigned out of the then open pool of unassigned numbers by the applicable Regatta’s organizing authority, who will accept on a first come basis via the registration process bow number declarations from new circuit participants.

It shall be the responsibility of each participating registrant to obtain and affix the assigned bow numbers to their yacht. Host Fleets, host Yacht Clubs, Race Committees, District 5, nor any other entity shall be responsible to supply bow numbers.

Issues relating to bow numbers (e.g. assignment, placement, size, etc.) will be resolved solely by the USJ22CA Southwest District Governor of record.
