Set Sail For a Cause / Leukemia Cup Regatta (OSWIM) : Event GraveYard - Dead Events Go Here...

About Event

"I don't think it's any exaggeration to say it is a fantastic idea to combine the sport we share with support for the people you care about so much. You hear the word hero a lot in connection with this sport. But to me, it is those who look illness square in the eye and take it on who have my total respect."

-Russell Coutts, Four-time America's Cup Champion

Set Sail For a Cause is an opportunity to make cures happen while enjoying what you love.  Set Sail For a Cause evolved as a way for member of Oregon Women’s Sailing Association to give back to their community.  Since 2000, members of the Oregon Women’s Sailing Association have worked tirelessly to raise over $230,000 in the fight against cancer.    This year, in partnership with the Leukemia Cup Regatta, they are expanding the event locally to a community-wide series of weekend events to help fight leukemia, lymphoma, and other blood cancers. The weekend includes a regatta, market fair, tours of the Tall Ship Royaliste, tales of being a pirate and an on the water scavenger hunt.   Set Sail for a Cause also includes a Gosling Rum after party, live entertainment and awards dinner.

Activities will be taking place at the Red Lion Jantzen Beach hotel along the water front.   All water activities will be on the Columbia River between the I-5 and I-205 bridges.

The Leukemia Cup Regatta is a National Series benefitting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
