Day one started with a good westerly that eventually died and then shifted North, Northeast, and East before the day was done. Five races were sailed giving everyone a thrown out race. There were four protest, resulting in one reprimand, and three DSQs. Several boats did not finish in the time window for race four and were scored TLE. We tried to get a race off on day 2, but the breeze would not cooperate. Results from day one stand. Congrats to all who attended. ...

    Good afternoon Ladies,

welcome to the 2015 SMSA Girl's championship (Gill Trophy). Here is some logistical info that will make your visit to Dennis YC easier and more enjoyable. First, go to the regatta website. All the regatta info can be found here. including
    1) Notice of Race

    2) Sailing Instructions

    3) A link to update your registration page. If your registration is still listed as "pending" or your sail number is "TBD" or "1234" or "unknwn" or something to that effect, make the effort to figure out what it actually is and fix it before Monday.

    4) If you have entered data but not paid, you are not registered. If you are still planning to attend, please complete your registration today. Because you are after the deadline, you can expect to pay a late fee.

    5) When you arriving at Dennis YC (4 Harbor Rd Sesuit Harbor East Dennis, MA) you will be direct to where to unload your trailer. Trailers and cars will then be directed to the town landing on the east side of the harbor. Parking is $8/(car & trailer) per day. You will be shuttled back to the club via powerboat. Coach boats can be launched from the East side of the Harbor too.

    6) SMSA would like to run a plastic free regatta. We will have gator aid jugs of water on boats all three days. Please bring a reusable water bottle to be re-filled when you get thirty. What else? The website should have all the info that you need to make your trip to the Gill fun and fulfilling.

I look forward to seeing you all on Monday or Tuesday, Rob Hurd SMSA Administer SouthernMassSailing@Gmail.com

Parking at Dennis YC for Gill Trophy.

Harbormaster is allowing us to park, with trailers, on the East Side (Quivet Creek) of the harbor (opposite side of harbor from club).
*The price for car and trailer is $8 per day.
*He will allow overnight trailer parking in that lot, just recommends that the trailers are secured/locked for overnight stay.
*It makes sense to launch any and all coach boats from that location as well.
*420s can be unloaded at club, then all vehicles proceed to the East Side to park.
*DYC will operate a launch to retrieve and bring coches/sailors to and fro.
