Welcome to Chicago's only kite foil regatta. Sailed off Montrose beach in Chicago, IL. The beach shoots straight out into Lake Michigan 1/2 a mile allowing foil racing in any breeze direction while still getting city views. The regatta is run by Chicago Corinthian Yacht Club which has a long history of running good sailing events, and is a great place to hang out after racing. The regatta will feature 1 day of practice racing in the morning followed by a distance race in the afternoon, from the beach to the Wilson crib and back. On Saturday and Sunday there will be windward-leeward style fleet racing. The distance race will be a separate trophy so sailors who can come friday will get some good racing but anyone who can only come Sat-Sun won't miss out. The timing is a perfect time to ride on lake Michigan. The water is still warm from the summer and the strong fall winds are blowing. I'm super excited, I can't wait to see everyone in October!!
