2016 Spring Break Sailing Week
US Sailing “REACH” - STEM and SAILING
Pre-requisite: 4th – 8th Grade in School
Student Age Recommendations: 9 - 14 years old
Spring Break Sailing Week uses the US Sailing STEM curriculum, called “REACH.” This class is designed to teach children basic sailing and teamwork skills while exploring principles of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math through the sport of sailing. The sailing instruction will utilize single handed and double handed boats to teach self-confidence and team work. The primary goal is to ensure that each child has positive experiences on the water while challenging youth to embrace education and establish a love of learning. Sailing will be done in International Optimist Dinghy’s and Club 420’s.
Dates: March 14 – 18 Time: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Cost: $250 per sailor
