The 33nd Oar Race will be a distance race from Fairfield Harbour to Oriental.
This race commemorates the evacuation of Dunkirk during World War II. The perpetual award for this races is an oar used during that historic event. This race also serves as a feeder race for the Michelob Ultra Cup (Oriental back to New Bern). The Michelob Ultra Cup will be held the following Sunday, September 4. Participation in the Michelob Ultra Cup, organized by NYRA, is not required for participation in the Oar Race.
