Junior Sailing Program Summer 2017 : Boothbay Harbor Yacht Club

About Event

Ten weekly Monday through Friday sessions begin June 19th and end August 25th with special events throughout the summer. The schedules are arranged so that sailing, tennis, and golf may be pursued separately, or in combination. Morning Sailors who don't begin Tennis until 2:30 (Juniors) will have a variety of supervised activities ashore after lunch. Junior Program sailing staff are experienced sailing instructors and apprentices who teach youth how to sail. Each instructor is certified in Red Cross CPR and First Aid, and is at least a Level 1 US Sailing Certified Instructor. Participants in the Junior Sailing Program are grouped by age and experience. The Junior Sailing Director may move sailors to their appropriate level, based on skill level and class size. Each participant in the sailing program must have his/her own life jacket and whistle. Life jackets are worn at all times on the docks and on the water - no exceptions. Morning programs are from 9:00 - 12:00; afternoon sessions from 1:00 - 4:00. All campers are welcome to stay for lunch (BYO or purchase at the Snack Bar). Registering for multiple weeks brings big savings, and members of BHYC enjoy an additional 20% discount on Junior Program sailing and tennis programs.
