The Lake Pontchartrain Women's Sailing Association 2017 Pink Ribbon Regatta is a story of survival. Pre-Katrina, LPWSA members Darlene Sintes and Elaine Boos decided to make a rather grand gesture for a friend suffering through the treatment for breast cancer. They showed their love through sailing. The Pink Ribbon Regatta was born, dedicated to their friend. Not only did their friend survive but their gesture is still alive and doing well too -- having raised well over $100,000 for early detection and treatment.
