This is the 1 day portion of the hands of the International Offshore Safety at Sea Seminar. Participants are required to take the online modules before certification can be approved. Online module registration can be found here. Registration for the online course is seperate from this event.

    The US Sailing International Offshore Safety at Sea with Hands on Training is a two day course, however, US Sailing now offers participants the ability to to 'Day 1' as an online course consisting of 8 modules.  You must register seperately (and complete) the online 'Day 1' portion of the course. Registration for Day 1 (online) is here. The RBYC will be running the Day 2 'Hands On' portion of this course.

    The Online portion covers the following modules:

    1. Helping Yourself and Others
    2. Personal Safety
    3. Crew overboard prevention and rescue
    4. Crew Health
    5. Radio and Satellite Communications
    6. Hypothermia
    7. Emergency Rescue and Evacuation
    8. Marine Weather

    The Day 2 'Hands On' covers the following modules (at RBYC):

    1. Fire precautions and Extinguishers
    2. Abandon Ship and life rafts
    3. Damage Control and repair
    4. Care and Maintenance of Safety equipment
    5. Vessel preparation
    6. Storm Tactics & Sails (TBC)
    7. Crew Selection & Training (TBC)
    8. Lessons Learned from Sailing Incidents (TBC)

    A light breakfast and lunch will be provided to participants.
