    Attention Mandeville Competitors,

Thank you for entering the 2018 Mandeville Race! We have a few points to cover...

There is a small rules tweak for this year. You are now allowed to use your motor to reach the starting area even if you are running late and your Preparatory Signal time has passed. You may motor to within two (2) boatlengths of the line before starting under sail only.

The Spinnaker fleet has been sub-divided into two divisions: 1 Sport and 2 Displacement.  The scoring for the PH Spring Series will still use the usual A, B, and Classic sub-divisions.

On both the South and North Shores, Mont Echols intends to start and finish the fleet from his 17-foot center-console runabout.

This weekend is also Pontchartrain Yacht Club's School's Out Regatta, so there may be OD and Opti courses setup near the entrance to Bayou Castine on both Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. Please plan accordingly to avoid interfering with their race courses.

As usual, the fleet is invited to raft-up on the public bulkhead across from the PontYC clubhouse. Please DO NOT tie-up on the bulkhead abutting the crane and boat storage area, as the OD fleet and RC boats need access there.

Mooring permits or "stickers" ARE NOT REQUIRED to tie-up overnight for this event.  This changes SI 16 Docking.

On Sunday morning, PontYC will offer a continental breakfast buffet (with sausage/egg/cheese biscuits) for $6.

We will award daily trophies (rum!) ASAP on Saturday evening in the PontYC bar and overall trophies will be presented in the SYC bar on Sunday evening.

Thanks again for supporting this classic Lake Pontchartrain event!

    Fair Winds,
    Kett Cummins, Regatta Chairman

Pontchartrain YC is also hosting its annual School's Out Regatta this weekend.  Please be considerate of the One Design courses after finishing on Saturday and, if need be, plan accordingly to avoid the OD courses when heading to your start on Sunday.

    Thank you!
