Summer Sailing Classes : Lake Lanier Sailing Club - Youth

About Event

Sailing 100: Adventure Sailing This class is offered at LLSC to encourage all sailors to enjoy the lake and experience many different types of boats LLSC has to offer. The focus will be safe and fun on the water while sailing to destinations. Many types of water craft will be explored during this week including: Stand up paddle boards, kayaks, optimist, C420, Flying Scots, and rides on keel boats. The goal is to be safe on the water while enjoying the sport of sailing. Juniors will be grouped by ages in different types of boats. Sailing 101: Intermediate Sailing This class is very similar to our Sailing 100, but our primary focus will be taking the foundation of what was learned in a previous sailing class and teaching the fine tunings of sailing and introduce chart planning for sailors on the water. Adventure Camp - ages 7-16 Boats provided Total space limited to 4 campers per week Bring your own lunch, water bottle, life jacket, water shoes, towel and change of clothes + mark and/or buff. Any extra cleaning material that your family has would be much appreciated to bring for your own personal comfort of cleaning level. Campers must be able to pass a swim check. In order to host sailing classes, following the Center for Disease Control is necessity. Students will be given responsibility to have individual wash down stations for their sailboat during the week. Wearing a mask and/or buff is a necessity. Lunches, snacks and sunscreen (followed by regular items one would simply supply) will no longer be provided by the organization to enforce the social distancing when possible. Each student will have their own boat (if needed to be provided) and/or on a boat large enough for reasonable social distance.
