Lauderdale Yacht Club is proud to introduce our Double-Handed Sailing Program! This program is open to sailors ages 13-17 who have prior sailing experience, with acceptance approved by the Sailing Director and Double-Handed Sailing Chair. This Program will be sailed in LYC’s new 420 sailboats, as well as FJ sailboats on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 3PM-7PM with the Double-Handed Fall Series (DHFS) sailed on one Friday a month, culminating with the LYC Double-Handed Fall Championship. The season starts with tryouts in the afternoon of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, September 1-3. The first official practice will be Tuesday, September 8th. The final practice will be Thursday, December 10th. The fall championship regatta is Friday, December 11th, with the awards presentation during the Fall Banquet on Friday, December 11th! This Program is limited to 30 sailors.
