Notice of Event POKER RUN FUNSAIL SARASOTA SAILING SQUADRON _/) _/) _/) _/) 1-This is a fun race open to sailing vessels: Sunfish, keelboats, Flying Scots, multihulls, Hobies, and kayaks, paddleboards. 2-There will be an open course on Sarasota Bay within the compass rose with anchored boats from which each vessel will obtain a sealed plastic bag with cards. 3-The anchored boats will be on the water from 1-4 on Saturday August 22. 4-There is no start line, no finish line. Each participating boat will go to each anchored boat (dealing station) to pick up their cards at any time during the hours of 1-4. The cards will be turned into a judge on land. There is no order to pickup-use the wind to your advantage. There will be 4 dealing stations. Locations will be posted on Saturday before the opening time on a board by C dock. Each dealing station will provide one sealed bag with 2 cards to each participant. You may only use your own cards, no sharing or exchanging. You may buy 1 wild card for $5. You must visit at least 3 dealing stations to assemble a poker hand. 5-There is only 1 (one) winner. Best Poker Hand wins; in case of a tie, pot is split. 6-The participating fee is $15 per boat and $5 for each additional crewmember. So, if you are a lone sailor it’s $15, and if you have a crewmember or two, it is $15 plus $5 each, so $20 or $25, etc. The pot will be split in half-half to the Best Poker Hand and the remainder to be divided among regatta costs. There will be hot dogs and beer for participants after you finish. 7-COVID RULES are in effect. The bar and clubhouse are closed. The hot dogs and beer will be outside on the patio at the picnic tables. Safe distancing, masks except while eating and drinking. Hand Sanitizers and disinfectant are in buckets on each table.
