Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM. This class allows students to experience single-handed sailing while being closely monitored and instructed by BRSS (US Sailing) certified instructors. Class size is limited to allow for student-focused instruction. Sailors get an introduction to Optis, rigging, parts of the boat, points of sail, and navigational right of way. Sailors will continue building their knowledge of basic sailing skills while beginning to learn the basics of racing and the skills they need to move on to the advanced Opti class. Club boats are available to rent or their own boat can be used and stored at the Club. Supervised lunch service is available separately from the BRYC snack bar following the daily lesson.
