The Atlantic Highland Sailing Education Program (AHSEP) will be hosting the AHSEP AWESOME Junior Regatta on Saturday, July 24, 2021. The AHSEP AWESOME Junior Regatta will consist of 1 day of racing on the Sandy Hook Bay and will be launched at the Sandy Hook Bay Catamaran Club (SHBCC), 130 Center Avenue, Atlantic Highlands, NJ. The SHBCC offers a beachfront launch for all junior sailing vessels. The regatta will consist of multiple races per fleet – conditions permitting. The Race Committee may alter the format at their discretion. Registrants must be current enrollees in an area summer sailing instructional program and coordinate their participation and be supported by that program’s own instructional staff and chase/support boat(s). Conditioned on a minimum of 3 registrants per fleet, the AHSEP Junior Regatta will have 5 fleets: 4 x Optimists fleets - Registration Fee $60 ($70 for late registrations after July 18th) Green (1st year sailors age 15 and under) White (Age 10 & under) Blue (Ages 11 & 12) Red (Ages 13-15) 1 x Club 420 fleet - Registration Fee $100 per team (Skipper & 1 Crew) ($120 for late registrations after July 18th) (PLEASE NOTE: Separate individual registration/waiver forms for skipper and crew are required. When registering to compete in the Club 420’s, the Skipper will need to provide the 1 crew member name and email address and select “Email Crew Member” to send Crew member the link to complete an individual registration and waiver form. Such Club 420 registrations will be listed as pending until both Skipper and Crew have completed the registration/waiver forms.) All participants must be 8 years or older but no older than 17 as of July 24, 2021. All participants will receive a custom designed T-shirt! Additional t-shirts can be purchased on race day. One lunch voucher will be provided to each participant. Additional lunch vouchers will be available at the registration table for $10. AHSEP will make every prudent effort to stage all races as closely as possible to the published schedule, provided that prevailing conditions, even if challenging, still allow for safety and fairness for all. In order to stage the AHSEP AWESOME Junior Regatta, AHSEP, a non-profit 501c(3) program, undertakes financial obligations in advance of the event, financial obligations which must be honored. Accordingly, if the regatta must be cancelled whether in whole or in part, there will be no refunds and no credits issued toward future regattas. Notwithstanding the above, any race entries scratched before July 19, 2021 are eligible for a full refund less a 10% administrative and processing fee.
