The Ladies Day Race was initiated in 1966 by Inge Stuber, the first president of the MPYC Spinnakers, whose volunteers supported all functions at the club. The purpose was to sponsor a race with all women skippers. The purpose of this race is to build more confidence at the helm among female skippers.
