2021 Waszp North American Championship Regatta : Davis Island Yacht Club

About Event

A Message from Conner Blouin, Event Chair

Davis Island Yacht Club is set to host the Waszp North American Championship December 9-12 in Tampa, Florida!

The four days of sailing will likely bring an unprecedented amount of races for Waszp sailors in the North American area. We are looking forward to one of America’s most racing-centric yacht clubs putting on an event of this caliber.

The race committee is planning to run 6 to 8 20-minute races each day, conditions permitting. While the nominal schedule has racing in mid-day, the (in)famous Tampa Bay weather always has surprises in store, and the late afternoon sea breeze also has the potential for delivering really great racing conditions if things look sketchy at mid-day.

Race hard! and then come ashore for a social time in the clubhouse or on the grounds. (Note: the Clubhouse itself will be closed to nonmembers on Saturday, December 11.)

Davis Island YC is a wonderful place to learn, socialize, and enjoy sailing with friends and competitors from across the country. More info about the Club at diyc.org.

This event will feature a ton of racing and a ton of opportunities to learn and share information about Waszp sailing. We look forward to seeing you in sunny Florida in December.
