Trivers Trap Out Regatta : Catamaran Racing Association of Wisconsin

About Event

We are headed back to Two Rivers (or Trivers as the locals call it) for another epic year of sailing on Lake Michigan. This regatta has always provided heavy winds, larger waves, and great bonding time with fellow CRAW members. Even better, this year we’re going to battle it out for three days – Friday, Saturday and Sunday! It will also be the site of the F16/15 Nationals so be ready to compete with the best. Get ready to trap out and battle the Lake Michigan waves! The regatta will be hosted at the Seagull Marina. CRAW will be hosting camp sites for Thursday, Friday and Saturday that have no hookups (yellow box on map). They are $23 per campsite per night to be paid by the individual. If you wish to have either electric or full hookups, you will need to reserve your spot independently and arrange a site directly with the marina (red box on map). Wifi, bathrooms/showers, ice and refreshments are available on site. If you need to reserve a site, you can do so by clicking here and you will be directed to Seagull Marina’s site. All boats need to be set up and trailers parked on the south end of the marina towards the beach and lake (yellow box on map). Please be conscious when parking that we typically have a lot of boats at this event and the parking lot can get crowded. Boats will launch directly from the beach all weekend. If you do not wish to camp on site with the crew, feel free to check out the Lighthouse Inn just down the road. You can visit their site by clicking here. Dinner on Saturday will be themed: welcome to the Trivers Luau! We’re inviting you all to join us Saturday night for a Hawaiian themed-dinner and party. Dinner will be a potluck, and CRAW will host the main dishes. Please bring a dish to pass within the theme and come decked out in your best Hawaiian shirts to celebrate. Back again this year, Red Gear Racing will be hosting a clinic the Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday prior to our event. Cost for the clinic is $295 per day per boat / $275 per day per boat for youth sailors; this includes a debrief in the evening and dinner. If you wish to get coaching just for the regatta itself, they are hosting a special $50 per boat per day for mild coaching during the races and a debrief in the AM & PM. For camping at the marina, the same information as the regatta applies. CRAW will host the block of sites for $23/night and if hookups are needed contact the marina directly. For additional information or any questions on the clinic, please reach out to Jill at funinthesunweb@gmail.com. If you’d like to stay close to the action over the weekend but won’t be participating on a boat, there is plenty of space for swimming, paddle boarding, sandcastle-making and other activities along the beach. For those who would like a break away from watching the competitive sport, there are additional things in the area to check out including the Pointe Beach State Park, Washington House Museum, Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum, Rogers St Fishing Museum, Wisconsin Maritime Museum, London Dairy Alpaca Ranch, Woodland Dunes Nature Preserve, Lincoln Park Zoo and West of the Lakes Botanical Gardens. So join us! This regatta is part of the non-spinnaker fleet series. For more info contact Kate Schnurr 520.591.9101
