2012 Bridgeton Harbor NYRA Invitational Regatta : Neuse Yacht Racing Association

About Event

The Neuse Yacht Racing Association (NYRA) has teamed up with Bridgeton Harbor Marina again to continue to promote racing and sailing on the Upper Neuse River. The Regatta has grown the last two years and to keep the momentum going we have decided to invite four new one design classes this year. To encourage typically non-racing sailboats to participate we will again allow Cruising Class boat to race to FREE if the owner joins NYRA. Also, Bridgeton Harbor Marina is standing behind its strategy to be a long-term partner with local sailors and will again offer FREE deep water slips (11 ft) to all racing sailboats. Boats may stay docked, or parked on the premises, free of charge until the Cinco de Mayo Regatta a month later. CLASS COMPETITION One Design Classes Anticipated OD Classes: Flying Scot, Sunfish, Opti, Ensign, Flying Junior, & San Juan 21 Other classes may be considered if enough interest (3 or more boats) is generated OD classes will be racing on the two race course areas located between the rail road trestle & the Hwy. 55/17 bridge (See attached maps). Multiple races are planned for each day. PHRF Classes Anticipated PHRF handicapped classes: Spinnaker, Non-Spinnaker & Cruising.
