Santa Monica Windjammers Yacht Club will host a starting clinic free of charge for both novice and experienced MDR sailors to improve starting skills.

10:00AM-- Unique perspectives on starting rules & strategies will be presented at an abbreviated Chalk-Talk. Mentors will be offered to skippers, and those without boats will be offered one. Racers with experience are encouraged to join us on the water.

1:00 to 3:00 PM will feature repeated sequences near the south end of detached breakwater just outside MDR’s main channel. Rolling five-minute starts for Over 30’ and Under 30’ fleets will include short breaks to adjust the start line. Afterward, a recap will be held at SMWYC. If possible videos of starts will be shown in the main dining room.

There is no charge and sailors new to racing are encouraged. Coffee & pastries will be offered in the morning.

All are welcome and encouraged regardless of club affiliation.
