Hey everybody! My name is Jay and I'm a 28 year old man completely new to sailing. Definitely not new to boating in general, I have a 17 foot flat bottom with an outboard jet that I do all the work on myself and take out regularly but I have always been interested in sailing. I know my lack of experience isn't the best but I'm an engineer by trade and have always found the best way to learn is by being immersed in whatever you're trying to pick up. Not afraid of doing the dirty work to get my feet wet. Hope to get out there and become a part of an awesome community!

Hello, I am a 28-year old man, new to the DC area and looking to indulge my sailing habit.
I have racing and cruising experience mostly at my home club in central Ohio! A friend turned me onto sailing on her J30 in Southern California and I was immediately hooked. I returned home to central Ohio and took lessons at a local sailing assoc. I purchased my first boat, a Pearson 21 in 2019 and raced in a few regattas with her. On our Wednesday red cup series, I mainly race aboard an s2 7.9, sometimes the occasional asymmetrical boat. I taught adult learn to sail at Alum Creek Sailing Association the last summer I had my boat in the water; I sold it to a man at the end of last season, and gave him a multi-day refresher on how to rig her and sail her.
I currently own a prindle 16, looking for a home as I venture into multihulls.
Can't wait to get out on the water!
