Hi all, I'm a certified sailor up to ASA 104. I'd like to get as much experience as possible and learn the ins and outs of racing. I'd love to volunteer as a deckhand (or other position), so if you're willing to have a hard-working mentee, give me a call or email!

hey there south beach skippers: i've been a regular on friday nights since 2010, and started racing in regattas the following year. i'm not the best at judging my own skills, but i'm confident in the pit of an asym boat, slightly less so with symmetrical kites. i'm relatively petite (120#), so if it's super windy i wouldn't put me at the mast, but on lighter days i'm good. i've done some headsail trim, and am keen to get more practice. :) boats i've been fortunate enough to crew on include j/105, 1d35, express 37, soverel 30, frers 40, martin 32, and farr 40.

Hey, I'm an experienced sailor who recently relocated to SF. I've sailed competitively for 15 years on a C&C 115. I've completed countless bouy races and 14 Chicago - Mackinac distance races. I can run any spot from fore deck to helm. I don't know what the race status is during quarantine, but if any one is going out and would like an extra crew member, please let me know!

Hey there, I'm a 28-year-old guy out of San Francisco with 10+ years of sailing and a lifetime of boating experience covering the Great Lakes, Atlantic, Mediterranean, Caribbean and SF Bay on everything from J24s up to 48-foot cats. I used to frequently crew on Friday night races back in Michigan and, after chartering my fair share out of OCSC, am eager to get back into the scene here in SF. I don't consider myself an expert but would love to get in with a competitive group that also likes to have a good time out on the water. I'm happy to jump in wherever you need an extra set of hands so do give me a shout if you're looking for more able-bodied crew!

5 years sailing/racing experience in beer can races (Cal-28) and weekend races/regattas (Cal-40) out of the East Bay, including this year's California Offshore Race Week, typically as foredeck. Looking to continue to develop my skills by learning from difference skippers/crew and on different boats. I am not available as full-time crew as I have other races on some Friday nights but I live and work in SF and could fill in from time to time.

Hello! I'm a 24 year old male that lives and works in San Francisco, and I've recently finished ASA 101 (basic keelboat) and 103 (basic coastal cruising). I'm still very new to sailing, but it's been a blast so far and I'm excited to spend more time out on the water. I'm specifically interested in the Friday night races starting up soon, but also happy to go out on weekday evenings or on the weekends. Cheers!

Hello, I’m fairly new to sailing but looking to gain some experience. I have the Basic Keelboat cert I finished last December and starting April 6th, will be starting my Basic Cruising certificate. Would love to join in on the races - I’ve heard you learn really quickly which is something I’d like to do. I have a positive attitude, learn quickly and if all else fails, I make a great beer can holder :) Cheers!

Hi, I’m interested in joining a crew as a sail trimmer. I’ve logged about 15 informal races around SF Bay on J24s and a Columbia 5.5, but I’m a bit rusty after a year hiatus from racing. I completed a basic keelboat certification at TISC in 2017, and I’ve kept up on basic sailing skills with Blue Water Foundation.

Hey All, I started sailing in summer '18, and recently got my 'Basic Cruising' endorsement from OCSC. I have sailed almost entirely on J24's. I'm interested in any position, and primarily motivated by a desire to better understand the subtleties of sail trim.

A year ago I moved to the Bay area and being virtually surrounded by water, I wish to resume competitive sailing. I'm an older executive working in the Financial District and I'm interested in crewing on anything 35' or preferably larger. It's been a while, but for many years I was regular crew on two different high end 35 footers and was in particular always headsail trim on starts. I have sailed and raced on a list of boats too long to list, and my early years included working in the sailing industry. My racing resume includes buoy races and distance races on Long Island Sound and Rhode Island Sound. I'd enjoy talking with you.

Hello SBYC! I am a prospective yacht club member, and am hoping to get involved in racing! I am 22 years old, and just moved to San Francisco. I\'ve been sailing in Southern California for the last few years and have experience sailing a 52 foot wooden schooner, Catalina 36, Olson 40, Ericson 32, and more. I was a teaching assistant for the Nautical Science program at my university and am therefore comfortable with sailing and racing terms. I also spent this past summer teaching dinghy sailing at a children\'s camp on Catalina Island. Thank you for your consideration! I would be happy to sail any type of boat and perform any task - any time on the water is time well spent!

I'm looking for an opportunity to sail and race again. I'm 49 and have been sailing since 11. I've sailed small boats (including regional racing in Fireballs and Laser 2s) as a teenager, windsurfed for many years, sailed beer can races, and later earned a bareboat certification (through Colgate). Despite the breadth of experience, I am green when it comes to yacht racing. I'm low-maintenance, ego-free, dependable, and eager to learn. Short notice okay.

I primarily trimmed main, but I am open to handling any position - I learn quickly. I am 6'2", 180lbs and am looking for any opportunities to get on the water, regular or one-off.

Hi SBYC skippers, I'm looking to crew on the 2018 Friday night races and other weekend races. I was part of the racing crew out of SBYC during the 2016 season on Stratocaster (skipper Lewis Lanier) and Avalon (skipper John Ford). I focused on chartering out of Modern Sailing (Sausalito) and getting ASA 106 certified during 2017. I can do pit, foredeck, main and jib trim. Learning strategy and tactics. Feel free to get in touch!

Newly moved in SF, first thing first - find a sailing crew! I love sailing, the speed, the people and the fun. Last time was almost a year ago, 10 days offshore in BVI, with a small crew who became great friends! But I admit you are probably way more experienced than me on this. Good news is that I learn stuff fast, esp with the best, and you can use me wherever you want on the boat! Love regattas. Up for cruising. Anytime! I would really appreciate it if you give me the opportunity to sail with you in this new town for me. Perks - I am a certified sommelier for fun and dance tango, so I promise to bring fun to the group after our regattas!

Hey SBYC, advanced beginner/intermediate sailor looking to help crew for events out of South Beach Yacht Club! I've been sailing dinghy's and keelboats for the past five years out of Alamitos Bay/Tiburon Yacht Club, and participate in both Friday night series as well as many of the bay area regattas. I own my own gear, and work/live in San Francisco (office is across the street from AT&T Park). Just really enjoy the challenge and teamwork involved in sailing, and want to stay active in the sailing community closer to San Francisco. I'm pursuing US Sailing Certifications in Basic Keel, Basic Cruising and Bareboat Cruising at the moment, and have most of my experience on jib sheets/foredeck. Thanks in advance, Max G (510) 541-3107
