Looking for a couple of good helmsmen, with multihull experience, to crew in 2012 HMR. Boat is 35.5 foot modified shifter 32. Expected rating is in neighborhood of 75 plus or minus. Boat has and is being completely rebuilt and from Slidell, Louisiana. I'll be sailing over and arriving on about October 17th, and will be at the Lakewood YC. As you know, multihulls dont carry a lot of crew, and I will have four max. I'm bringing one good crew with me, but need two more who can drive. No one knows how fast, or not, this boat is as it will be its second race. It will have the fastest paint job, or tackiest perhaps, in any case. Send me an email with your experience and I'll call you back. Jim Bates jimbates@jimbateshome.com

Would love to crew for the HMR. Have been studying / sailing now for about a year, have ASA 101 course. Many hours on sunfish, and a few on 38 foot sloop. I'm married, but the wife is not going, 42, good shape, easy going but ready to sail!

Couple looking to crew in the HMR. We have lots of experience having sailed our Catalina 27 and Cal 46 in the HMR for many years. As well as being crew on a Morgan 44 for 2 years. We both have race experience on the bay and in the Gulf. Yes, we've skippered for many years but we also know how to be crew and have crewed on many boats for many skippers and have always been invited back! In good health in our 60's. Can supply references.

Experienced Sailor, ASA certified (Coastal Cruising), many more German certificates, sailed North Sea, Baltic Sea, Mediterranean, San Francisco Bay, Caribbean, crossed the Gulf (Regatta del amigos), sailed some 7 or 8 Harvest Moon races before we had kids – I’d like to get back into it and crew on this year’s Harvest Moon. Give me a call if you need crew. Thanks. Manfred. manfred.hornung@boeing.com, 281-309-6901 ©

I am a Corpus Christi Bay sailor who desperately wants blue water experience. I own and sail a C-22 and have completed through ASA 105 on the bigger boats. I'll take any position, do double watches if necessary, cook and scrub as much as possible, and pay a reasonable crew share. I know I'm a greenhorn and welcome any opportunity to pay my dues. I am 40 years old, 6' 2" and in good condition. Non smoker.

Love to crew on Harvest Moon! I\'m male, 57, great shape, sailing nut. I\'ve been doing the Clear Lake Wednesday races for a while, have some blue-water experience in the Gulf, and did the bareboat charter thing down in the BVIs last year.

This is the one regatta I've been dying to do since I learned about it several years ago. I'm 51, been sailing six years, willing to do what ever is necessary to participate. I'm a journalist; if you're open to it I am also interested in doing a story about the race, but my first priority is to find a spot on a boat. I lived in Clear Lake for 12 years before moving to Oklahoma City in 2004 -- it's a short flight to Hobby on Southwest.
