The southerly seemed steady until start time - dying, veering, backing as the sequence started. All 3 starts got off, looked like something happened at the pin as the A Fleet started. Courses set little longer than usual - optimistic - breeze veered and backed all evening, never quite settling. Last finisher came close to the time limit. 3 DNFs, one a broken tiller. RC picked up marks in the dark. Special thanks to Powderwhore for assistance "above and beyond." 23 yachts started. 20 yachts finished. Some old-time, New England summer sailboat racing. Next week first warning @ 17:30:00.
