Forecasted ENE at a very light 4 kts, with a building flood tide. Maybe 6 kts at race time, but mostly got it right this time. Any easterly is unreliable and this was no different. A shorter 0.6 nm legs W/L was set up . As 17:30 neared the breeze started to back, pin favored. No time to rearrange in Sept so got it off on time. Only two boats escaped the crowd at the pin clean, the rest gasping for clean air. The breeze kept backing dramatically changing the order of the boats, turning the run to a headstay reach. All in all a crapshoot for most. Eleven J 24s started on time and all finished. A lovely, last night for the 2022 J 24 Tuesday Evening Series Season.
