Lovely summer late afternoon in September, flat water, just a hint of a southerly. Chased that hint south looking for the fill. Appeared possible near Gunboat. GB the weather mark for A, one set a quarter mile closer for everyone else. Almost started on time! The light SW and flat water not to be wasted, started a second race backwards, slower boats first etc. Worked! Weather mark pulled as the sun set - just lovely! 23 boats showed. What started as a likely no race day turned into a very special evening for all ;>
