The undersigned hereby assumes for themselves and their crew all risk of accident and expressly agrees that the Carolina Sailing Club will not be liable, under any circumstances, for loss or injury to participants or others, loss or damage to any yacht. The undersigned further agrees to release the race organizers from any and all liability associated with their and their crew’s participation in our club events to the fullest extent permitted by law. The undersigned also agrees to be bound by The Racing Rules of Sailing and by all other rules that govern our sailing events.

I am fully aware of the risks and hazards associated with participation in the activities of the Carolina
Sailing Club, the Carolina Sailing Foundation, and the RTP Area High School Sailing Program (RTPHSS).
I understand that I am solely responsible for my arrival and departure of my child at the beginning and
end of each scheduled program.
My child is in good health and I know of no reason why they would be incapable of participating in any of
these Program activities. My child knows how to swim. I have provided a US Coast Guard approved
personal floatation device (PFD) for my child and they have agreed to wear it at all times while
participating in the on-water portions of the Program.
I hereby elect voluntarily for my child to participate in sailing instruction, sailboat races, and regattas and
fully acknowledge that these activities may be hazardous to me, my child, and/or my property. I am aware
that sailing may be potentially hazardous. Conditions may include, among other things, strong winds and
high waves, unexpected immersion, and collision with another watercraft.
I acknowledge that I assume all risks while my child travels to and from regattas and sailing practice. In
particular, the decisions to participate in any event considering, but not limited to, the location, time,
weather conditions, and availability and use of safety equipment, including PFDs are mine and I assume
complete responsibility for them.
I hereby release any claim I may have against the Carolina Sailing Club, the Carolina Sailing Foundation
including the RTPHSS Program, its officers, directors, and agents for personal injury or property damage
arising from my child's participation in Club, Foundation, or RTPHSS Program activities and agree to hold
all of the above harmless from said claims.
In consideration of the opportunity to participate in a Sailing Program conducted by the Carolina Sailing
Club, I for myself, my heirs and assigns hereby RELEASE and DISCHARGE The State of North Carolina,
its employees, agents, and representatives from all claims, losses, or liability arising out of or in any way
related to my participation in the Sailing program whether or not attributable to negligence on the part of
Carolina Sailing Club and The State of North Carolina, its employees, agents or representatives.
