2024 RCYC Long Distance Race

INVITATION: RCYC invites all eligible boats to participate in the modified Harry Braut Memorial Long-Distance Race to be held on the Columbia River
DESCRIPTION:  This race will consist of a long race on Both Saturday, and a second long race on Sunday. This is a qualifier for the OSCA Participation and Performance Trophy.
ELEGIBILITY AND INSTRUCTIONS: The race will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing and OCSA GSI's. The race is open to all boats sailing in One-Design, Cruising, or PHRF class. All entrants shall comply with the rules governing thier class. To compete for the overall ranking, a current PHRF-NW rating is required.
DATES AND TIMES: September 7and 8, first warnings will be at 1300 hours.
REGISTRATION: Eligible boats shall enter and pay online at http://www.sailpdx.org before the registration dead line of 1900hourslocal time, Thursday, two days before the race. No late registrations will be accepted. 
FEES: The entry fee is $35 for all competitors who are not members of RCYC. All entrants must be a current OCSA member to enter this race.
CLASS DIVISIONS: Class breaks will be posted on the official notice board at http://www.sailpdx.org, not latter than 2200 hours the day before the race.
COURES: There will be one start for all classes on Saturday and a separate start for the Ranger 20 & cruising class on Sunday. All classes will race on both days. The legs of the race may be shortened at any navigation mark or temporary mark at the discretion of the Race Committee. Saturday: Start between the Race Committee and DM “39”, leave the Red/Green Buoy downriver from Sand Island to port, and finish between the Race Committee stationed at the Sand Island Public Docks and a temporary orange mark. Sunday: Start between the Race Committee and DM “2”, leave the “Red/Green” Buoy to STARBOARD, and finish between the Race Committee and DM “39”. Any changes will be posted on www.sailpdx.org, not later than 2200 hours the day before the race.
TIME LIMIT: The Race Committee will try to finish all boats within six hours of the start. Any boat not finishing within eight hours for each leg will be scored TLE.
SCOARING: The total elapsed time for both days will determine the finishing order. PHRF classes will be scored using Time-on-Time. All boats with valid PHRF certificates in addition to individual classes will be scored in the PHRF Overall Class.

END OF NOTICE OF RACEINVITATION: Rose City Yacht Club invites all eligible boats to participate in the 
first race of the year. The Frostbite Regatta will be held on the Columbia River between
the I-5 & I-205 bridges
.DESCRIPTION: This is a one-day regatta consisting of two or more races.
ELIGIBILITY AND INSTRUCTIONS: The regatta will be governed by the 
Racing Rules of  Sailing and the OCSA General Sailing Instructions. 
The regatta is open to all boats sailing in a One-Design, Cruising or PHRF class
and all entrants shall comply with the rules governing their class.
Club PHRF ratings may be assigned for boats racing who are not members of
PHRF-NW; ratings are issued by the club, and are valid only for this event. 
DATE AND TIMES: Racing will be on March 24.

Handicap

In consideration of acceptance of my participation in this event, I acknowledge and agree to the following: 

(1) My boat has a liability insurance policy currently in effect covering bodily injury and property damage with a per occurrence limit of liability of not less than $500,000 and said policy does not exclude yacht racing activities. 
(2) I agree to be bound by the Racing Rules of Sailing of the International Sailing Federation including the national prescriptions of U.S. Sailing, as modified by the OCSA Sailing Instructions and the Race Notice and/or Supplemental Instructions for this event. 
(3) My boat will be subject to disqualification for interference with commercial traffic in accordance with the OCSA Sailing Instructions. 
(4) OCSA recommends all participating yachts comply with Category 4 safety requirements. 
(5) Skippers are responsible for their yachts compliance with USCG regulations.
