Welcome to the 2024 Santa Barbara to King Harbor online entry.

DIRECTIONS: First fill out the entry form completely and then you will be directed to an online store to purchase your slip space. Once you have added all items to your cart, a total will be tallied and you will be able to pay via credit card or paypal.

Entries are considered complete once all information and payment have been received. This includes payment of any slip fees. Entries completed on or before Sunday, July 7, 2024 will receive a $40 discount.  Online entry will become disabled after Sunday, July 21.

*Class breaks will be made the week of the race.  Registrant lists displayed online are not necessarily indicative of final class breaks and should only be used as a guide for who has signed up for the race.

Race Entry Agreement – REQUIRED! 

Please accept this Entry Application for the Santa Barbara to King Harbor Race. I hereby agree to comply with this Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions as well as rules and regulations of the U.S. Coast Guard, US Sailing and class/fleet safety requirements. I am personally responsible for the operation of my yacht and enter this regatta at my own risk and do hereby release and hold harmless Santa Barbara and King Harbor Yacht Clubs, their officers, employees, agents, committee persons and race officials acting in their official capacities, from any damage, liability, loss, cost or expense including attorney fees, arising from my and my crews participation in the race, to the extent that such release does not discharge my insurance carrier under the provisions of insurance policies on my yacht. I agree to be bound by The Racing Rules of Sailing and by all other rules that govern this event. I have carefully read, understand and agree to the above. 

 

For and in consideration of the Santa Barbara Yacht Club and King Harbor Yacht Club (the “Organization”) allowing me, the undersigned, to participate in any capacity in an Organization sanctioned, licensed or approved event or activity (“Event” or “Events”); I, for myself, and on behalf of my spouse, children, heirs and next of kin, and any legal and personal representatives, executors, administrators, successors, and assigns, hereby agree to and make the following contractual representations pursuant to this Agreement (the “Agreement”):


A. RULES AND REGULATIONS: I hereby agree to abide by the rules, regulations, and policies of the Organization,
including any and all COVID-19 related safety measures required by the Organization.


B. ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF RISK: I knowingly, willingly, and voluntarily acknowledge the inherent risks associated
with the sport of sailing, and that participation in any Organization involves risks and dangers including, without
limitation, the potential for serious bodily injury (including broken bones, head or neck injuries), sickness and disease
(including communicable diseases), trauma, pain & suffering, permanent disability, paralysis and death; loss of or
damage to personal property; exposure to extreme conditions and circumstances; accidents involving other participants,
event staff, volunteers or spectators; contact or collision with other participants or natural or manmade objects; adverse
weather conditions; facilities issues and premises conditions; failure of protective equipment; inadequate safety
measures; participants of varying skill levels; situations beyond the immediate control of the Event organizers and
competition management; and other undefined, not readily foreseeable and presently unknown risks and dangers
(“Risks”).


C. ASSUMPTION OF RISK: I understand that the aforementioned Risks may be caused in whole or in part or result
directly or indirectly from the negligence of my own actions or inactions, the actions or inactions of others participating
in the Events, or the negligent acts or omissions of the Released Parties defined below, and I hereby voluntarily and
knowingly assume all such Risks and responsibility for any damages, liabilities, losses, or expenses that I incur as a result
of my participation in any Events. I also agree to be responsible for any injury or damage caused by me or any agents
under my direction and control at any Event.


D. RELEASE: In consideration of my participation in any Event, I hereby release from liability and waive any claims
against the owner or organizer of the Event, its licensees, competition managers, promoters, sponsors, advertisers,
beneficiaries, venue providers, and supporting organizations, together with the officers, directors, employees,
volunteers and contractors of them (the “Released Parties” or “Event Organizers”), with respect to any liability, claim(s),
demand(s), cause(s) of action, damage(s), loss, or expense (including court costs and reasonable attorney fees) of any
kind or nature (“Liability”) which may arise out of, result from, or relate in any way to my participation in the Events,
including claims for Liability caused in whole or in part by the negligent acts or omissions of the Released Parties.


E. COMPLETE AGREEMENT AND SEVERABILITY CLAUSE: This Agreement represents the complete understanding
between the parties regarding these issues and no oral representations, statements or inducements have been made
apart from this Agreement. If any provision of this Agreement is held to be unlawful, void, or for any reason
unenforceable, then that provision shall be deemed severable from this Agreement and shall not affect the validity and
enforceability of any remaining provisions.



Visitor Slip Permits - Please Read This. 

*Valid for paid dates. Noon-check-out. 

*All Visitors Must Check Out. 

*Fish tickets/fees due and payable in advance - no refunds. 

*Alcoholic beverages permitted in marinas but prohibited on public sidewalks. 

*Daily delinquncy fee charged for late payment. 

*Marine Sanitation Device (MSD) inspection and dye tabbing upon vessel's arrival. 

*A charge equal to double the bill incurred plus $10.00 will be charged if you leave the harbor without first paying fees due. 

*Past due fees will subject your vessel to impound and lien sale. SBMC17.20.220 

*You will be charged for tyinig up without registering OR without first paying delinquent visitor fees. 

*Vessel and/or crew convicted of sewage discharge in the SB HArbor will be banned fomr SB Harbor for one year. 

*Subject to penalty and/or citationif visitor stay is over 28 days. 

 

Harbor Visitor Slip Permit Release of Liability and Indemnification - REQUIRED! 

 

Visitor Slip Permittee, on behalf of him or herself and his or her heirs, executors and administrators and invitees, shall investigate, defend, indemnify and hold the City and the respective officers, agents and employees of the City harmless from and against all liabilities, obligations, damages, penalties, claims, costs, charges and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) by reason of injury or death of any person, or damage to or destruction of any property which may be imposed upon, incurred by or asserted against the City, or the respective officers, agents and employees of the City arising out of or in any way connected with the Visitor Slip Permit or the use or enjoyment of the Santa Barbara Harbor by the Visitor Slip Permittee or invitees of the Permittee. 

 

Visitor Slip Permittee hereby releases, waives, discharges and covenants not to sue the City of Santa Barbara, its employees, officers, and agents (hereinafter referred to as “releasees”) from all liability to Visitor Slip Permittee, his or her personal representatives, assigns, heirs, next of kin and invitees for any loss, damage, or claim therefore on account of injury to the person or property of Visitor Slip Permittee or Visitor Slip Permittee’s invitees, whether caused by any negligent act or omission of the releasees or otherwise while the Visitor Slip Permittee or invitees of the Visitor Slip Permittee is engaged in any way with the use or enjoyment of the Santa Barbara Harbor District. 

 

Visitor Slip Permittee acknowledges that other than the issuance of a Visitor Slip Permit to Visitor Slip Permittee for Visitor Slip Permittee’s use of the Harbor pursuant to the permit, no representation of fact or opinion has been made by the City of Santa Barbara or any of its respective officers, employees or agents, to induce this release, and that Visitor Slip Permittee has signed this release freely and voluntarily, after having read it completely, and with full knowledge of any rights or privileges that Visitor Slip Permittee may be waiving or releasing.
