Registration for Ocean Springs Sailing Squadron & Ocean Springs Yacht Club : 50th Annual Horn Island Hop Regatta

RULES - The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in the latest Racing Rules of Sailing except as modified by this notice and the forthcoming sailing instructions.

ENTRY AND ELIGIBILITY - Open to multihull catamarans 16 feet and larger with a Small Catamaran Handicap Rating System (SCHRS) multihull rating or amended by the PRO, and monohull sport boats and trimarans with approval of the PRO before the start of the race.

FORMAT - Race 1 starts just off the beach at OSYC, head directly to the finish at Horn Island, approximate GPS coordinates furnished in the sailing instructions. Relax, lunch, swim, eat drink and be merry on the island. Race 2 reverses course back to the finish at OSYC. Race 3 on Sunday circumnavigates Deer Island on a course documented in the sailing instructions.

FEES - The entry fee for all double hand boats is $100 with a $20 late fee (single hand boats $70 with a $20 late fee) after 2359 on June 24, 2024
Entry fee includes:

-full breakfast on Saturday & Sunday
-2 event T-shirts
-lunch on the island
- dinner Saturday night

-Hamburgers @ Awards Ceremony

SCHEDULE -

-Friday, July 5th, competitor check in from 5-7pm

Saturday, July 6th:
- 0830 breakfast
- 0900 registration cutoff
- 0930 skippers meeting
- 1030 start followed by lunch on the island
- Dinner after the race

Sunday, July 7th:

- 0830 Breakfast
- 0930 skippers meeting
- 1030 start
- 1600 (est.) awards

SAILING INSTRUCTIONS - will be posted at Regatta Network

SCORING - the low point scoring system will be used with no throw outs.

AWARDS - 1st-3d in each class/fleet. Classes/fleets to be determined based on pre-registration. Consideration of one design fleets will be made on fleets with 5 or more pre-registrants(by June 24) in the organizer's discretion.

NOTE: Competitors are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the notice of race & sailing instructions on-site, at the skippers meeting and the notice board. They will list what channel markers, etc to round. For you Island Hop Vets... it's going to be the same route, start and finish lines in same general vicinity.

Ocean Springs Yacht Club, Inc. and Ocean Springs Sailing Squadron, Inc., reserves the right to accept or reject any or all applications. I hereby release the Ocean Springs Yacht Club, Inc., Oceans Springs Sailing Squadron, Inc. their affiliates and all event sponsors from any and all damages, costs or injuries of any kind. Furthermore, I agree to defend and hold harmless the above-mentioned parties from any and all accidents caused fully or in part by my acts, omissions, negligence or breach of this agreement. I also promise to permit no one on my boat who has not registered or updated the RC as a "Crew" on this or an attached application during the entirety of the regatta. I also permit the use of my image or likeness, including the use of photography, film or video by the Ocean Springs Yacht Club, Inc. and Ocean Springs Sailing Squadron, Inc. and other related parties for commercial purposes and promotion. These provisions shall survive the termination of this regatta

All participants must be 21 years of age to consume alcoholic beverages or to win any alcohol door prizes.
