Registration for RCYC : RCYC Frostbite Regatta

INVITATION: Rose City Yacht Club invites all eligible boats to participate in the

first race of the year. The Frostbite Regatta will be held on the Columbia River between

the I-5 & I-205 bridges

.DESCRIPTION: This is a one-day regatta consisting of two or more races.

ELIGIBILITY AND INSTRUCTIONS: The regatta will be governed by the

Racing Rules of Sailing and the OCSA General Sailing Instructions.

The regatta is open to all boats sailing in a One-Design, Cruising or PHRF class

and all entrants shall comply with the rules governing their class.

Club PHRF ratings may be assigned for boats racing who are not members of

PHRF-NW; ratings are issued by the club, and are valid only for this event.

DATE AND TIMES: Racing will be on March 24.

That my boat has a liability insurance policy currently in effect covering bodily injury and property damage with a per occurrence limit of liability of not less than $500,000 and said policy does not exclude yacht racing activities;

To be bound by the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) including the national prescriptions of U.S. Sailing, as modified by the OCSA General Sailing Instructions and the Notice of Race and any Supplemental Sailing Instructions for this event (available at sailpdx.org) including the safety requirements relating to commercial/marine traffic in the racing area, specifically but not limited to:

Monitoring Channels 16 and 72;

Adhering to Colregs 7-9, not impeding commercial traffic;

Providing testimony, photos and video if needed of events;

Following guidance provided by PRO when serving as CRO;

Following instructions provided by Safety Boat and Race Officials;

Providing Cell Phone number & monitor while sailing;

I am a current member of OCSA; and

I understand that as a competitor in a Portland Yacht Club (PYC) sponsored event I do it entirely at my own risk. Further, under RRS 3 and 4, I understand and agree that the decision to race is mine alone and it shall be my responsibility as skipper to inform the crew of the risks of sailboat racing, to make sure they understand and accept those risks, to decide whether the crew is competent and adequate for the event, and to decide whether to start or continue in a race. PYC does not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the PYC sponsored event.
