Notice of Race

Rules

The regatta will be governed by the Rules as defined in the 2009-2012 Racing Rules of Sailing, the Sailing Instructions and this Notice of Race.

Eligibility

This regatta is open to all boats with valid PHRF-GB certificates, and others that can form a one design class and supply a set of class rules, subject to the discretion of the race committee. A minimum of three boats is required to form a class.

Entries

Competitors may enter online at: http://www.regattanetwork.com/clubs/gbca.html .

PHRF certificates may be uploaded at the time of registration (preferred), or delivered to the competitors briefing. The entry fee will be $60.00. Current members of US Sailing will receive a $5.00 discount. Entry fees will be refunded if the entry is withdrawn prior to the entry deadline.  The deadline for all entries is Friday, February 13th at 1930 CST; however, entries received after 2359 CST, Wednesday February 11th will be subject to a $10.00 late fee.

Boats intending to race in a handicap fleet must have delivered a current PHRF-GB rating certificate to the Race Committee or uploaded it to Regatta Network before the conclusion of the competitors briefing.

Courses

Courses will be windward-leeward of various lengths in that part of Galveston Bay bounded by The Bayport Ship Channel, The Houston Ship Channel and the shoreline between Red Bluff and San Leon.

Sailing Instructions

Sailing instructions will be available at the GBCA office after 1900 Friday, February 13th and at http://www.regattanetwork.com/clubs/gbca/html.

Any change to the sailing instructions will be posted before 0800 on the day it will take effect, except that any change to the schedule of races will be posted by 2000 on the day before it will take effect.

Schedule of Events

A competitors briefing will be held at the GBCA office at 1900 Friday, February 13th.

As many as races as practical will be run, but not more than 5 races for each class will be run during the regatta. Subsequent races for each class will be started as soon as possible after the class has finished the prior race. The warning signal for the first race on each day of the regatta will not be before 1100 hours.

No races will be excluded from scoring. This Modifies RRS A4.

A party will be held on Saturday, February 14th after the conclusion of the last race.

   

 Trophy presentations will be on Sunday, February 15th after the conclusion of the last race.
