Sailing Instruction Amendment #1:

The Sailing Instructions are changed as follows:

 

  1. SI 1.4.2 is changed by replacing the reference to RRS 40.1 with a reference to RRS 40.
  2. SI 4.1 is deleted and replaced by "Any change to the format or schedule of races will be posted by 2100 on the day before it will take effect."
  3. SI 5.1.3(b) is changed by replacing the reference to SI 7.1.3(a) with a reference to SI 5.1.3(a).
  4. In SI 5.2.1 - Stage 5, the second to last sentence is deleted and replaced with "The winner of each pair will be the first team to score 2 points."
  5. SI 6.5.4(c) is changed by replacing the reference to SI 6.10.3(a) with a reference to SI 6.5.4(a).
  6. SI 6.5.4(a) is changed by replacing "...may display flag L..." with "...may display a green flag...".
  7. Add SI 9.6 "For match racing, no later than the attention signal, the race committtee signal boat will display the course designation."
  8. Add SI 9.7 "For the purposes of RRS C7,  Mark 1 will be the windward mark and Mark 2 will be the leeward mark."
  9. SI 10.1 is changed so that the New Mark on race course Delta will be an orange tetrahedron."
  10. SI 10.4 is deleted and replaced with "Starting and finishing marks may be race committee vessels or inflatable marks.    Inflatable starting marks, when used, will be orange tetrahedrons."
  11. In SI 12.2.3(b) the words "...in the vicinity of mark L." are deleted and replaced with "... in the vicinity of mark 2."
  12. SI 13 is deleted and replaced with "13. The Finish.   The finishing line will be between a staff displaying an orange flag on the race committee vessel and the course side of the nearby finishing mark described in SI 10.1"
  13. In SI 16.1.7, add to the list of penalties at the discretion of the protest committee, the penatly for breaking SI 11.4.
  14. Add SI 16.1.9 "On the last day of the qualifying series or opening series, or on the last scheduled day of racing, a request for redress from a jury decision shall be delivered no later than 30 minutes after the decision was posted.   This changes RRS 62.2."
  15. SI 17.1.4 is changed by replacing the reference to SI 19.6 with a reference to SI 16.1.7."
  16. SI 18.1 is changed by deleting the words "...these instructions." and inserting the words "...these safety regulations."
  17. SI 18.6 is changed by replacing the reference to SI 18.6 with a reference to SI 18.5.
  18. In SI 21.1, add to the descriptions of official boats, "Umpire - White Flag with black stripes."
  19. SI 21.2 is deleted and replaced with "Action by official boats or helicopters shall not be grounds for requesting redress by a boat. This changes RRS 60.1(b)."
  20. SI 22.1 is changed by adding, "During any starting sequence, all support boats must stay more than 20 meters below the starting line and its extensions."
  21. Add SI Addendum C 2.19 "A breach of SI C2.17 and 2.18 is not subject to protest by a boat, but is subject to action by umpires in accordance with RRS C8.2.   This changes RRS C6.2 and RRS C8.2."
  22. SI Addendum C 4.1 is deleted and replaced with "The completion of a written damage report before leaving a boat at the end of the day and submitting it to the Race Committee (RC), even if no damage or loss is recorded.   Reports shall include any evidence of matters which could cause damage or disadvantage to the boat in future matches.   When boat swaps are carried out on the water, skippers must immediately verbally advise the RC of any damage or loss or any evidence of matters which could cause damage or disadvantage to the boat in future matches."
  23. Add SI ADDENDUM D – MATCH RACING EQUIPMENT LIST -       The following non-fixed items, provided by the OA, are to be carried on board at all times in their designated place while sailing. Any loss shall be reported on the daily damage report.

  1. SI Addendum E is changed by deleting the line which reads "Course Assignments (SI 10), Supplement Notice Board (SI 4), and Schedule of Races (SI 8)"
