About Event

The Southern Mass Sailing Association Junior Triple-Handed Championship; an elimination regatta for the Sears Trophy. Crew of three including skipper in Flying Scots Each club may enter one (1) boat for this event. Member club dues must be paid prior to this event.

    The SMSA Cumming Cup Junior Triplehanded Championship was held on June 26, 2015 in Flying Scots at Pleasant Bay Community Boating’s new waterfront facility at the intersection of Harwich, Brewster, and Orleans. Six teams competed and the conditions were excellent North to Northeast winds averaging around 10 knots. The racing was very close, with three teams having a chance to win going into the last race.     Congratulations to Stage Harbor YC for winning the 2015 SMSA Cumming Cup. Stone Horse YC was second and also qualifies to represent SMSA at the Area A regatta in July. Chatham YC was third. The final standings came down to the end of this six race, no throw-out regatta. Congratulations to all the participants and to Pleasant Bat BC & Chatham YC for running the event. ...

    NB: The 2015 Cumming Cup will be run out of the NEW Pleasant Bay Community Boating site located at 2287 Rt 28 in Harwich, MA. It is basically on the opposite side of Pleasant Bay from the Chatham YC. So, if you arrive at CYC on the morning of June 26th and it appears empty, look across the bay - that is where we will be waiting for you. ...
