OSYC Adult Sailing Lessons. Lessons include classroom and theory, safety, rigging, righting, and time on the water on one of the club’s Hobie Waves or the 16 foot Hobie Getaway. The class takes place over 2 days, Saturday-Sunday, From 9am into the afternoon, depending on your skills... 4pm... 6pm... bring a lunch! You will get academic/theory of sailing, group sailing on the Hobie Getaway, and individual (solo) sailing on the Waves. The minimum class size is two students, maximum is four students. If insufficient students have registered by the Wednesday before the lesson date, we will cancel that date and offer the registrant choice of future dates. Convince a friend or family member to attend as well to ensure you get your desired date! Our instructors are U.S. Sail Instructor Certified and each have several years of experience teaching both children and adults to sail. If you wish to make it a Parent/Child learn-to-sail weekend they will happily accommodate that as well. In addition to instructional and recreational sailing, our instructors have all competed successfully in the various OSYC catamaran regattas. Registration is $175 and includes use of the boat for the lesson, the instructor fee, use of this online system, and after successful completion of the course club members may use the boats thereafter with a completed float plan on file in the office.
