This event was originated in 2013 by SYC Member "Bud" Livingston to commemorate original SYC races with starts and finishes off the Club deck. The Sausalito Yacht Club invites Bay Sailors to come out for the 8th “Jaws race.” The race consists of a single pursuit race with the start and finish off the deck of the Sausalito Yacht Club. A pursuit race has a staggered start with the slower boats starting first and the faster boats starting later. The start times are based on PHRF handicaps. The first boat to finish wins, the second to finish is second, and so on.
