CANCELED. The Channel Islands to Marina del Rey (CI2MdR) Race was originally scheduled for this date. It was resurrected for racers and cruising sailors to enjoy the 46nm sail from the Channel Islands area to Marina del Rey as well as the hospitality of the co-sponsoring yacht clubs before and after the race. In light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, closure of yacht clubs to reciprocal boat visits, and decreasing daylight hours at this time of year, CIYC has decided to shorten the course distance and call this the “Halfway Race.” The planned course distance will be approximately 23nm, half the distance of prior CI2MdR races. In the event of light air, shorter course options will be provided.
