We are learning to adapt and make course corrections. Our membership of 23 isn’t as strong as in the past, request for entry fee reimbursement was down slightly from the previous years and year over year the Florida Community of Sailors is seeing our sport evolve quickly at the local, regional, national and international level.
Your Florida RSA is an extension of US Sailing. With that in mind we are moving to a more automated and innovative organization. For the first time we are using Regatta Network for our annual meeting registration. Through this platform we can offer fast and easy access to register for the meeting. In addition you can pay your membership dues on Regatta Network. We’d like to see membership growth and sustainability, distribution of more reimbursement entry fees and 100% participation of the US Sailing Safesport Training from our member clubs.
FSA offers significant resources for your organizations:
- regatta reimbursement grant program up to $100 annually per junior sailor
- training reimbursement program up to $300 annually per applicant
- regatta appeals process
- access to resources in our region such as training, race and event management and regatta promotion
- acts as a communication conduit between our members and US Sailing
FSA is the clearinghouse for the Florida Youth Sailing Association calendar: your single-source, updated events around the state – including championship regattas.
The Florida Sailing Association supports the US Sailing SafeSport Training, offers financial support for youth sailors, financial support in training certifications and serves as your voice with US Sailing. Immediately following the annual meeting will offer opportunities for dialogue of successes and challenges your organizations are facing. We encourage open dialogue that will afford growth and best practices.
Continue to support FSA as a dues paying member. Your active involvement both here and at your home club is the lifeline to the continued growth of our sport. We look forward to a memorable 2021.
