Race Officer and RC Crew training Saturday, March 12 and Sunday March 13 10:00 until 2:00 ish each day (finish time will depend on engagement and interest, as well as material covered) Registration: 2022 BSC/NYRA/FHYC/ETYSA members - free Non members - $10 Attend both days, or just one, Lunch provided both days Saturday training will cover: • An overview of the roles of the members of Race Committee • The process of Running a Race • Setting a race course and coordinating the team • Actions demonstrated using code flags, watches, and sound signals • Communication to Race participants Sunday training will cover: -Hands on Race Committee work (on land) -Use of GPS and VHS for setting a course and communication -Deploying and Retrieving marks -Safety considerations Come and learn about how to run a sailboat race Help us grow racing on the Neuse and improve your sailing skills at the same time!
