About Event

The Mug Race is hosted by the Rudder Club of Jacksonville and the Palatka Yacht Club. The Rudder Club is the event organizing authority. The Mug Race is a 38 nautical mile one-way race down the St. Johns River from Palatka to Orange Park FL. It is open to all sailboats with a mast height of 44 feet or less. There will be two separate starts using the same start line, one for multihulls followed by one for other boats. 
THE DOCKS BY THE PALATKA PUBLIC RAMP ARE CLOSED. IF YOU WOULD NORMALLY DOCK THERE FRIDAY NIGHT, INSTEAD CONSIDER THE FINGER DOCKS JUST SOUTH OF THE US 17 BRIDGE. BE  PREPARED TO RAFT UP.

    Because of storm damage, the City Docks adjacent to the Palatka Public Docks are closed and fenced off. If you would normally dock there on Friday night, instead consider the two finger piers just South of the US 17 bridge. These are approximately 100' long, and you may dock either side. The water depth is about 5' close to shore and deeper further out. Please share this dock with others - be prepared for a raft-up. ...
