The Oshkosh Yacht Club Sailing School provides a value priced community sailing opportunity for youth who have completed 8 through age 13. Students sail the International Optimist. The "Opti", which is the perfect youth boat. While being simple in design for the new skipper, it can be fine-tuned by the more advanced skipper. While on land and water, students develop problem solving skills while incorporating STEM concepts into their decision making. Our programs focus on racing and the enjoyment of sailing as a lifetime and community activity. Our advanced racing allows sailors to hone their skills during class and apply them in racing events on other Wisconsin lakes. All coaches are U.S. Sailing certified. Parents are urged to be hands off while classes are in session.
