Invitation: SYSCO extends an invitation to all Sailboat skippers of Level or One-design fleets to compete in an event on the Columbia River. Description: This is a single race event, with one Start. Eligibility and Instructions: This event will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing and the OCSA General Sailing Instructions. Any changes as well as any class breaks will be posted on the official notice board at: www.sailingpdx.org, prior to racing. Date and Time: Sept. 22, 2013 Sunday Warning at 1300 Hrs. Starting Signals will be given on VHF Channel 72. Registration: Go to syscosailing.org and click on the Race Registration link, fill out the on line form and pay any necessary fees. Indicate fleet or class preference on the entry form. Entries will not be accepted after 48 hours prior to the start time. Fee: $2.00, required at time of registration. Course: A Start/Finish line between the N.E. corner of RCYC docks to Buoy #14 will be used, or a properly flagged anchored Race Committee Boat near Buoy 14 could establish the South end of the Start or Finish line. Boats may start in either direction, to round two marks to Port, (#3 Green Buoy east side of the I-5 Bridge and #19 Green Buoy west side of the I-205 Bridge), in any order. The Start/Finish line will not be restricted during the second leg of Yachts chosen Course. Course distance is approximately 12.5 Nautical Miles. Time Limit: The course must be completed within 4 hours to be scored. Awards: Will be presented at the annual SYSCO Awards Banquet. Communication: Race results will be posted at: www.sailpdx.org.
