About Event

Columbia Crossings and Small Yacht Sailing Club of Oregon extends an invitation to all PHRF handicap boats and one-design fleets to compete in this regatta between the I-5 and I-205 Bridges. OCSA recognized level fleets will be treated as a one-design fleet. SYSCO promotes one- design and level class sailboat racing; however for this regatta PHRF handicap boats are specifically invited to participate. A minimum of three starting boats will be required to constitute a PHRF or one-design or level class. PHRF entrants must hold a current PHRF-NW rating certificate. Club PHRF ratings may be assigned for boats racing who are not current members of PHRF-NW; ratings are issued by the club, and are valid only for this event. Races shall be governed by the rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing, OCSA General Sailing Instructions & Courses and supplemental sailing instructions posted on the OCSA Event Notice Board. Specific course instructions will be posted on the OCSA Event Notice Board. DATE AND TIME: Saturday, June 20, warning signal at 1400 hours. TIME LIMIT: The course must be completed within 4 hours to be scored.

    Separate start and finish lines will be used for upstream and downstream boats leaving the committee boat to port: Upstream boats will start and finish between the committee and a yellow mark. Downstream boats will start and finish between the committee and buoy #14. ...

    There will be two courses for the Dual Bridge Duel:

    All boats will start together crossing a line between the committee boat and buoy #14. Each boat can choose their own direction and rounding order, you may start heading down-river and round your mark near the Interstate first, or start heading up-river and round your mark near Glenn-Jackson first.

    Cruising Class will round the OCSA designated navigational buoy #2 and navigational buoy #18 denoted on the linked course chart as Mark #2 and Mark #18 respectively.

    All other classes will round navigational buoy #3 and navigational buoy #19 denoted on the linked course chart as Mark #3 and Mark #19 respectively.
