Notice to Competitors 5 October 2015 Although all competitors are required to provide a valid measurement certificate at the on-site registration, the Organizers intend to foster awareness of the requirement of compliance to the International Albacore Class Rules as well as they wish to implement a set of control measurements for the whole Internationals fleet. The latter are focused on measurement items that have been found in the past inadvertently altered from the original certified measurements. This may have been the consequence of a repair or replacement of a part and perhaps related inaccurate re-measurement. In any case, we strive to assure that all boats start with the same competitive advantages and restrictions. As a measurement process is personnel intensive and time consuming, we desire to cut down on the time required on site before sailing the Internationals. We request that each competitor validates the measurement points laid out in the published Measurement Form before arriving at the Sarasota Sailing Squadron. This will help to significantly cut down in the time required to check-in each boat for the Internationals competition. We still will determine the sailing weight and endorse the sails for the regatta (and have tools available to validate the aforementioned measurements); but with your help this process should take less than 20 minutes per boat. Please, to enhance our planning and to not take away unnecessarily precious time from your Florida vacation, send in this form as soon as you have the measurements validated, at latest with the closing of the early registration period on 28 February 2015. Please include your preferred time for presenting the boat to the measurement team at Sarasota. Pick a time in 20-minute increments on the days and time periods reserved for registration and measurement (see NOR). We will accommodate your choice on a first-come basis and post the initial/final arrangements on the web and at the Internationals Notice Board. We will accept the form for scheduling without the measurement endorsements if you should not be able to achieve the validation before your arrival. Please also take note of the Waiver Form that needs to be made available for the check-in procedure if exemptions from the International Albacore Class Rules are required for your boat.
