March 21-23, New Bern, North Carolina One design and PHRF sailing just off the historic downtown New Bern waterfront Come join us in New Bern for the 2014 NYRA Invitational Regatta! The newly renovated BridgePoint Hotel & Marina is committed to partnering with local sailors to promote racing and sailing on the upper Neuse River. BridgePoint Marina & Hotel will host the event at their new marina facility in New Bern adjacent the the Cunningham Bridge. Discounted deep water slips for PHRF boats will be offered at $1 per foot, compliments of BridgePoint Marina, on a space available basis. Discounted room rates will also be offered at BridgePoint's Hotel. BridgePointe Hotel has 116 spacious and well appointed guest rooms and suites all featuring free wireless internet, refrigerators, microwaves, irons/ironing boards, coffee makers, and hairdryers. Riverview rooms and Jacuzzi Suites are available and BridgePoint is Pet Friendly! Reservation information: http://www.bridgepointe.com/ . Please mention that you are part of the NYRA Invitational to receive discounted rates. One-design classes (SJ21, Sunfish, Laser, Ensign, etc.) will race just off Union Point in downtown New Bern. Multiple races are planned for each day. Anticipated PHRF handicapped classes are Spinnaker, Non-spinnaker, and Cruising. An appropriate course down the Neuse River and back will be set for the anticipated weather conditions. One race is planned for each day; Separate Race Committee boats will be assigned to the PHRF class to insure ability to change course if conditions warrant.
