The US Sailing International Offshore Safety at Sea with Hands on Training is a two day course, however, US Sailing now offers participants the ability to to 'Day 1' as an online course consisting of 8 modules. You
must register seperately (and complete) the online 'Day 1' portion of the course.
Registration for Day 1 (online) is here. The RBYC will be running the Day 2 'Hands On' portion of this course.
The Online portion covers the following modules:

- Personal Safety
- Crew overboard prevention and rescue
- Crew Health
- Radio and Satellite Communications
- Hypothermia
- Emergency Rescue and Evacuation
- Marine Weather
The Day 2 'Hands On' covers the following modules (at RBYC):
- Fire precautions and Extinguishers
- Abandon Ship and life rafts
- Damage Control and repair
- Care and Maintenance of Safety equipment
- Vessel preparation
- Storm Tactics & Sails (TBC)
- Crew Selection & Training (TBC)
- Lessons Learned from Sailing Incidents (TBC)
A light breakfast and lunch will be provided to participants.
