We are proud to announce that we have joined the race to restore ocean health with Sailors for the Sea’s Clean Regattas program. Protecting our local waters is very important to this regatta and we ask for your help in this effort. We ask for your help on the following items: • Separate your trash and place recyclables in the appropriate recycling containers which will be available at the Glass House. Trash may be placed on any Race Committee boat while on the water. Race Committee will separate and recycle collected trash. • Switch your team over to reusable water bottles. Please bring your favorite refillable water bottles. Water fill stations will be available on shore and on the water. We want to eliminate single use plastics. • Please help us to leave Henderson Point State Park in better shape than when we arrived by picking up any and all trash that you may find. This includes the shoreline and while on the water.

The North Carolina Governor’s Cup Regatta is in its 62nd year, making it one of the oldest and most venerable in the Southeast. The Regatta includes up to five races over two days. Racing takes place off Henderson Point State Recreation Area on Kerr Lake which is known for its beautiful expanse of water, tree-lined shores, great family camping, and easy access from Interstate 85. Free Youth Registration: Sailors 21 years of age and under have free registration. Youth sailors must register on Regatta Network, but they can choose the free Youth registration option. Free Youth Camping: The Henderson Point Group Camping Area has been reserved for Youth Sailors and their famlies/chaperones. Please email the Regatta Chairperson, Jerry Thompson, at trimsails@gmail.com to confirm a spot in the Group Camping Area. Accommodations: Excellent camping facilities with large lots are available at Henderson Point Recreation Area.
