Dear Sailfest Participants and Families:
Sarasota Youth Sailing and the Sarasota Sailing Squadron have been reviewing and conducting ongoing discussions regarding the 33rd Annual Sailfest Regatta. Following the feedback from local health and government officials, and restrictions put in place for events due to the COVID-19, we have decided the responsible decision is to CANCEL Sailfest scheduled for March 28-29, 2020. At this time, we do not have a reschedule date, but should that change, we will be in touch.
As many of you know, Sailfest is SYS's long standing fundraiser regatta, and we rely heavily on revenue to support our amazing year round community sailing program. If you would like to donate your registration fees to the program, please reply to this email with the following information:
1. Your Name
2. Your Sailor (s) name
3. Fleet
4. Please donate my fees to the SYS program
If you DO NOT wish to donate, you will be refunded in full.
While this news is hard for us as an organization, and our wonderful sailing community, we know that we will have many more Sailfest events to come, and we look forward to seeing you all out on the water very soon!
