Description
|

Boat 371 was approaching pin end of the start line on starboard lay line. Boat 1754 was to windward and barging. At about 2 boat lengths from the start line Boat 371 headed up to close the gap between her and the pin, boat 1754 had ample opportunity to tack or leave the pin to port but did not change course and minor contact was made. Boat speeds were slow, about 2 kts, and there was no damage or injury.

Stardust used two different spinnakers in the race. Columbia River Ranger Fleet #4 Class Rules (2010) rule 5.4 states: " Each sloop is limited to one suit of sails. A suit of sails consists of one jib, one genoa, one mainsail and one spinnaker. Sails that are lost or damaged may be replaced. Only one of each class sail shall be carried on board during a race. Additional sails not used for class racing may be carried, but such extra sails shall not be available for use as spares or as alternative sails during a given one-design race."
