Day Three - Sarasota at its finest Posted on Mar 18, 2015 14:34 EST |
The phrase most commonly heard around the club, Can we stay? Day Three is a repeat of the first two days 78 degrees breeze about 10 knots NW. This Flying Scot fleet is fantastic. Great group of people both on and off the water. You have to love fleets that bring together sailors from all ages and parts of the country. We will have to check but I think one skipper is under the age of 13, several skippers spanning 30 to 50 years of age, with a few celebrating their 70's in this beautiful Florida sunshine.
Age isn't a factor in this fleet, either is gender. Husbands and wives, brothers and sisters, fathers and sons, and great friends make up the teams. After a 4 or 5 miles course all the boats are finishing within a minute of each other with the top twenty boats finishing within seconds of each other.
It's been a great week of racing and we look forward to seeing the Flying Scots again in two years when they will come back our way.
Watch for results! It's going to be close!

Hoist or Ramp Launch Posted on Oct 27, 2014 22:49 EST |
The Squadron replaced nearly all of the docks this past year so we have more and better dock space. Racers can use the ramps or the hoist for boat launching, but hoist space is limited. We will allocate hoist spots based on earliest registration, so if you want to use the hoist, REGISTER AND PAY NOW!
